Terms of Service

Last updated: 20 April 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

The Be Bitwise platform (the “Service”) is operated by Be Bitwise Limited, a company incorporated in England and Wales under company number 17165156, with its registered office at 66 Paul Street, London, England, United Kingdom, EC2A 4NA. References to “we”, “us”, or “our” throughout these Terms refer to Be Bitwise Limited.

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Be Bitwise Limited. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Description of Service

Be Bitwise is an online computing and cybersecurity education platform. The core educational content — including learning modules, interactive simulations, coding exercises, quizzes, checkpoints, and certificates of completion — is provided free of charge for individual learners who create a free account.

Be Bitwise may, from time to time, introduce additional services, supplementary features, or premium offerings alongside the free platform. Any such additional services will be subject to their own terms and conditions, which will be presented at the time of their introduction. The availability of the core free educational content for individual learners is not affected by any additional services.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have the permission of a parent or legal guardian to use the Service.

4. Your Account

A free account is required to access the educational content on Be Bitwise, including learning modules, simulations, coding exercises, checkpoints, and certificates. You can register for an account at no cost.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at support@bebitwise.io if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account.

You agree to provide accurate and current information when registering and to keep your account information up to date.

5. Permitted Use

The Service is provided for personal, non-commercial, educational purposes. You may:

  • Access and complete modules, simulations, and exercises for your own learning.
  • Take notes and save your progress.
  • Share links to Be Bitwise content with others for educational purposes.
  • Earn and share certificates of completion.

The Service is intended for individual, personal educational use. If you wish to deploy Be Bitwise content or the platform within an organisation — including but not limited to businesses, educational institutions, training providers, or government bodies — you must obtain a separate licence agreement. Licensing terms are available on request by contacting support@bebitwise.io.

Systematic or bulk use of the Service on behalf of an organisation, whether or not for commercial purposes, without a licence agreement is a violation of these Terms.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
  • Reproduce, redistribute, sell, or commercially exploit any content or materials from the Service without our prior written permission.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, its servers, or any system connected to the Service, except as expressly permitted by the Security Testing Policy.
  • Conduct any security testing, vulnerability scanning, or penetration testing of the Service except in strict accordance with our Security Testing Policy.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service, including by submitting automated requests (scraping, crawling) without permission.
  • Upload, transmit, or distribute any content that is harmful, abusive, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your affiliation with any person or entity.
  • Use the code execution features of the Service to run malicious code, attack external systems, or conduct any activity that could harm third parties.
  • Create multiple accounts for the purpose of circumventing rate limits, access controls, or any other restriction.

The knowledge and techniques taught on Be Bitwise are for defensive and educational purposes only. You must not apply what you learn to attack, compromise, or otherwise harm systems or individuals without explicit authorisation.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on Be Bitwise — including but not limited to module text, diagrams, simulations, code examples, illustrations, and the Be Bitwise name and logo — is the intellectual property of Be Bitwise or its content contributors, and is protected by copyright and other applicable intellectual property laws.

Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our intellectual property beyond what is necessary to use the Service for its intended educational purpose. You may not reproduce substantial portions of our content without prior written consent.

Where the Service includes open-source code or libraries, those components are subject to their respective licences.

Commercial use, redistribution, or organisational deployment of Be Bitwise content — including but not limited to incorporating our materials into training programmes, courses, or products — requires our prior written permission or a licence agreement. To enquire about licensing, please contact support@bebitwise.io.

8. Additional Services

Be Bitwise may introduce additional services, premium features, or supplementary offerings in the future. Where such services involve separate terms, pricing, or conditions, those terms will be presented to you before you access or subscribe to the additional service.

Your use of the core free educational content is not conditional on your use of any additional services. The introduction of paid or premium offerings does not alter your rights under these Terms with respect to the free educational content.

9. User-Generated Content

The Service allows you to create notes associated with your account. You retain ownership of any content you create. By storing content in the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

You are solely responsible for the content you create. You must not store content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights or violates any applicable law.

10. No Warranty

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of any content on the Service.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Be Bitwise and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the greater of £10 or the total amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, given the Service is free, will in most cases be nil).

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Third-Party Links and Services

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or resources. These links are provided for convenience only. We have no control over and accept no responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or terms of any third-party site. We encourage you to review the terms and privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.

13. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time via your profile settings. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account, without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or that your use of the Service poses a risk to us, other users, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to access the Service will cease immediately.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

You agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms or their subject matter or formation, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence provide otherwise.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
